Patient Transport

“Moving my father from one nursing home to another was a delicate and, for him, potentially a traumatic exercise. The instant response and support before transport was very good indeed. On the day both the men in the ambulance showed care, understanding and expertise. The service could not have been better, it was brilliant.”Satisfied Client

Our Company:

GB Emergency Medical Services was initially started by a team of experienced Ambulance Crews and Managers from other organisations, who came together with a common goal;
“To provide a patient led service promoting; choice, dignity and wellbeing above all else”
The company has grown steadily since this time and our goals have remained the same.

Our Vehicles and Resources:

GB-EMS can offer:
Emergency Ambulances – Which are equipped to a similar standard to that of NHS (999) Ambulances and are crewed with an appropriate mix of Paramedics, Ambulance Technicians and Ambulance Care Assistants dependent on the requirement of our client. These vehicles are capable of transferring patients under Emergency “Blue Light” conditions if necessary and the crew are qualified and experienced to ensure our patient receives the best possible care whilst travelling with us.
Non Emergency Ambulances – Stretcher capable vehicles equipped to a slightly lower standard than the Emergency Ambulances, but still carrying “Oxygen”, First Aid Equipment and a Defibrillator, just in case the worst happens. These vehicles can also carry passengers in their own wheelchairs.
All Vehicles carry moving and handling equipment, such as; “Evac” Chairs and Slide Sheets to aid us in moving and handling patients/service users who are unable to assist themselves.

Going The Extra Mile:

Refrigeration: we recognise that some medications need to be kept refrigerated. On long distance journeys we can provide “In Vehicle” refrigeration to ensure medications are kept at the appropriate temperature.
Door to Door: A medically qualified crew member by your patients side from pick up to drop off. We support patients until they’re safely at their destination. We’ll even help book them in.
Umbrella Service: There is nothing worse than getting wet going from a vehicle to a building in the rain … we can help with that.
Luggage: There is a small amount of space available on our vehicles for luggage especially on longer distance journeys. Let us know if your patient needs to bring luggage with them, if we can stow it safely there is no problem.
Escorts: Having a family member or member of staff from a care home present can reduce the trauma of travelling. We can accept escorts to travel by prior arrangement only – For a small extra charge we can even return the escort to the pickup location too.
